1. Introduction
Welcome to Scope Institute Pty Ltd (ABN 91 681 451 123), a division of Scope Healthcare. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and participation in our courses and services. By enrolling in any of our courses, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
2. Definitions
- “Scope Institute,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to Scope Institute Pty Ltd.
- “Student,” “you,” or “your” refers to the individual enrolling in our courses.
- “Course” refers to any educational program offered by Scope Institute.
- “Online Portal” refers to the digital platform through which course materials are accessed.
- “Instalment Plan” refers to an agreed payment schedule for course fees.

4. Course Offerings and Structure
Scope Institute offers various courses in different formats:
- Hybrid Learning: Combines online theory with in-person practical sessions (e.g., 3-Part Echocardiography Program).
- In-Person Learning: All sessions are conducted on-site (e.g., Critical Care Echocardiography Program).
5. Eligibility and Admissions
Eligibility criteria vary by course:
- 3-Part Echocardiography Program:
- Must hold a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent from a recognised Australian university or other relevant undergraduate degree recognised by Australia.
- Students must complete Part 1 before enrolling in Part 2 and complete Part 2 before Part 3.
- Part 3 requires enrolment in an ASAR-recognised course offering formal qualifications in cardiac sonography.
- Critical Care Echocardiography Program:
- Must be an AHPRA-registered medical practitioner with basic echocardiography skills.
6. Enrolment Process
- Online Enrolment: You can enrol directly online through our website.
- Phone Enrolment: Alternatively, you can contact our staff on (03) 9134 2306, and we will assist you with the enrolment process.
- Deposit Payment: A deposit must be paid within five working days to secure your place.
- Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid at least two weeks prior to the course commencement date.
- Non-Payment: Failure to pay the deposit or final balance by the due dates may result in forfeiture of your place and deposit.
7. Fees, Payments, and Instalments
- All payments are processed through Stripe.
- Instalment plans are available for Parts 1 and 2 of the 3-Part Echocardiography Program and can be arranged by contacting our team.
- Deposits are refundable only under specific conditions outlined in Section 12.
8. Access to Learning Materials
- Course materials are accessible through our online portal for viewing only.
- Materials cannot be downloaded, shared, copied, or distributed in any form.
- Access durations:
- 3-Part Echocardiography Program: Access until each part is completed.
- Critical Care Echocardiography Program: Access for 10 weeks after completion.
- Any breach of these rules may result in legal action and revocation of access without refund.
9. Code of Conduct
- Students must behave professionally during all sessions.
- Misconduct, including but not limited to plagiarism or sharing course content, will result in immediate revocation of access without refund.
- Login credentials are confidential and must not be shared.
- Students must treat all equipment with respect and care.
10. Intellectual Property Rights
- All course materials are the intellectual property of Scope Institute.
- Materials cannot be shared, copied, downloaded, or disclosed to any third party.
- Upon completion, students may use their learnings personally but may not share or repurpose the materials for public or commercial use.
- All students are required to sign Privacy, Non-Disclosure, and Confidentiality agreements.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
- Personal information such as your name, address, and date of birth is stored securely on our servers.
- Servers are hosted by a third-party provider with multi-factor authentication and robust security protocols.

12. Cancellations, Withdrawals, and Refunds
- 3-Part Echocardiography Program (Parts 1 and 2):
- Withdrawal up to two weeks prior to commencement: 50% refund of the deposit.
- Withdrawal after commencement: No refund.
- Critical Care Echocardiography Program:
- Withdrawal up to two weeks prior to commencement: 50% refund of the deposit.
- Withdrawal after commencement: No refund.
- Non-Payment: Failure to make payments by due dates may result in removal from the course and forfeiture of the deposit.
13. Feedback and Testimonials
- By providing feedback, you grant Scope Institute the right to use your first name initial, last name, occupation, and review for promotional and marketing purposes.
- We value your privacy; no additional personal information will be disclosed without your explicit consent.
14. Certificates and Accreditation
- Upon successful completion of a course, students will receive a certificate signed by relevant staff, listing the course completed.
- Completion of courses does not provide formal qualifications but may be used for professional development or general training purposes.
15. Limitation of Liability
- Scope Institute is not responsible for delays, technical issues, or changes in course schedules due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Completion of any course does not guarantee employment.
- Significant changes to schedules will be communicated in advance to enrolled students.
16. Health and Safety
- Students attending in-person sessions must adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Non-compliance may result in removal from the course without refund.
17. Non-Transferable Enrolment
- Enrolment is non-transferable.
- Students may not transfer their place or course materials to another individual.
18. Modification of Terms
- Scope Institute may modify these Terms at any time.
- Updated Terms will be posted on our website.
- Changes will not affect enrolments made under previous Terms.
19. Dispute Resolution
- For any disputes regarding payments, enrolment, or materials, please contact [email protected].
- We aim to resolve all issues within ten business days through direct communication.
20. Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
- Any legal actions or proceedings will be conducted in Victoria.
21. Course-Specific Terms
21.1. 3-Part Echocardiography Program
- Prerequisites:
- Must hold a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent from a recognised Australian university or other relevant undergraduate degree recognised by Australia.
- Successful completion of Part 1 is required to enrol in Part 2.
- Successful completion of Part 2 is required to enrol in Part 3.
- Part 1:
- Test Patient Requirement: Students must bring their own test patient for practical training sessions (e.g., a friend or family member). Failure to do so will result in the inability to participate in practical training for that day.
- Part 2:
- Attendance Requirement: Students must attend a minimum of 85% of rostered placements over the 16-week duration.
- Clinical Placements: While we endeavour to keep students close to home, you may be required to travel to any Scope Institute location for clinical placements.
- Part 3:
- Enrolment in Formal Qualifications: Students must enrol in an ASAR-recognised course offering formal qualifications in cardiac sonography.
- Supervision: Students may request Scope Institute to act as their nominated supervisor, subject to a formal interview. Acceptance is not guaranteed due to limited places.
- General Terms for All Parts:
- Equipment Care: Students must treat all equipment with respect and care.
- Non-Disclosure Agreements: All students are required to sign and abide by Privacy, Non-Disclosure, and Confidentiality agreements.
- Course Materials: All handbooks and information remain the property of Scope Institute and cannot be shared, copied, downloaded, or disclosed to any other party.
- No Formal Qualifications: Completion of this program does not provide formal qualifications but supplements formal education with an enrolled university.
- Enrolment Refusal: Scope Institute reserves the right to refuse enrolment on any basis.
- Deposits and Payments: Refer to Sections 6 and 7 for payment terms.
21.2. Critical Care Echocardiography Program
- Prerequisite: Must be an AHPRA-registered medical practitioner with basic echocardiography skills.
- Training Location: All training will be held at Wheelers Hill, Victoria.
- Equipment Care: Participants must treat all equipment with respect and care.
- Enrolment:
- Online Enrolment: Enrol directly online or contact our staff.
- Deposit and Payments: Refer to Sections 6 and 7 for payment terms.
- Non-Disclosure Agreements: All participants are required to sign Privacy, Non-Disclosure, and Confidentiality agreements.
- Course Materials: All handbooks and information remain the property of Scope Institute and cannot be shared, copied, downloaded, or disclosed to any other party.
- Certificate of Participation: Completion of this program provides a certificate of participation but does not confer formal qualification of echocardiography skills.
- Enrolment Refusal: Scope Institute reserves the right to refuse enrolment on any basis and will refund the deposit in full if enrolment is refused.
22. Acceptance
By enrolling and commencing a course at Scope Institute, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
