Part 2 – Clinical Placements & Rotations

After finishing Part 1 – Introduction to Adult Echocardiography,  you’ll move on to our 16-week placement program. This stage provides you with the chance to work directly with patients, performing echocardiograms under the guidance of experienced mentors. You’ll also take part in various cardiac procedures, building the advanced practical skills needed for clinical practice.

What You Need to Get Started (Requirements)

  • Course Completion: You must have successfully completed Part 1 – Introduction to Adult Echocardiography.
  • Educational Background: You should have at least a Bachelor's degree in Science, Nursing, Medicine, or a related medical field from a recognised Australian/New Zealand university, or an equivalent undergraduate degree recognised in Australia.
  • In-Person Attendance: Attend 2 practical training sessions per week at our Melbourne-based sites in Victoria.

Week 1-16

  • Hands-on experience performing echocardiograms.
  • Observe and assist with patient assessments and diagnostics.
  • Develop expertise in interpreting and reporting echocardiographic findings.

  • Setup, interpret, and report Holter monitors, ECGs, and blood pressure monitors.
  • Gain hands-on experience in practical patient care management.
  • Observe and practice best care techniques alongside clinical supervisors
